English Garden Dubsdread Wedding

Downtown Orlando was the location for Kiah and Dock’s intimate wedding. Vibrant fuchsia, orange, and pink flowers decorated the beautiful reception space at the Historic Dubsdread in College Park, FL. According to the bride, Kiah, she “wanted it to feel like a dinner party with close friends, with flowers from the garden, and vintage pieces she always enjoyed collecting. Like glamping in an English garden!” Well, we think she nailed it!

Lots of things to love about Kiah and Dock’s wedding!  The Grand Bohemian, where they got ready, is so gorgeous to photograph.  I love the rich colors and directional lighting.  Kiah’s dress was stunning!  The layers, the details, and the bodice were so elegant. Dock gave his bride a lovely set of earrings as a wedding day gift.  Kiah gave Dock a painting of a scene he remarked on three years ago.  As they looked over a beautiful farm on rolling hills, he made the comment, “This would make a great painting.”  She remembered, and had it commissioned as his wedding day gift! Kiah and Dock said their vows in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando.  Dr. David Swanson presided over the beginning of their marriage in the historic space.

After the ceremony, they had portraits at Lake Eola with Downtown Orlando in the background, as the swans put on a good show until the sprinklers went off.  They then had their first drink together as a married couple at the restaurant in their venue. Some patrons at the bar bought them some celebratory drinks.  Their reception was at Historic Dubsdread.  The venue was gorgeously decorated and had breathtaking florals from one of my favorites, Lee James.  He perfectly matched Kiah’s garden flower/milk glass theme, complete with touches of gold!   Kiah was serenaded with the song, Sweetheart of Sigma Chi, by Dock and his friends. The guests ended the night with roasting marshmallows for s’more around the fire pit. It was a wonderful day full of laughter and joy and lots of smiles!
