Destination Wedding: Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort

If you are going to have your wedding on the beach, why not making it a whole weekend that you and your guests can enjoy. Just a short drive to the coast from Orlando, Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort offers a perfect opportunity for both when it comes to your wedding celebration.

Make it a Weekend Wedding

Weekend Weddings are becoming more and more popular and we’ve got to say it’s a trend that we absolutely love! Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort truly has so many options that you wouldn’t have to leave the resort’s property to have an amazing time.

Accommodations and Amenities

When it comes to this tropical-themed resort, you’ll enjoy the feel of a boutique-style hotel with the amenities of a resort. Little details like the plumeria tree the original owners brought back from a trip to Hawaii, really play to the theme of the resort. The beachfront property features 120-two bedroom, two-bathroom newly renovated villas.

Although the outside of this Cocoa Beach resort is tropical-themed, the villas provide an upscale, sleek and modern design with great amenities, like a full kitchen and provide ample space for families and couples.

What’s even better is that the resort offers special group rates, which makes it easy and affordable for your wedding guests.

Things to Do and Eat

Since the resort is on the beach, you are just a short walk to the ocean. Cabanas, complimentary sunscreen, and even surf lessons will give your wedding guests a personalized beachside experience.

The Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort also provides continuous service to the Westgate Resort Cocoa Beach Pier. If you’ve been around the Central Florida area for some time, you’ve probably been to the Cocoa Beach pier. Back in 2014, Westgate purchased the pier and began what would be a $4 million transformation.

There’s no shortage of Cocoa Beach restaurants to choose from, with most of the local legends clustered on or around the Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier. The pier has five restaurant options along with several places to shop. Each of the restaurants has a different vibe, providing quick bites or a sit-down meal.  If you haven’t been in a while, you need to go back!

One of our favorite spots on the pier is located at the very end, the Rikki Tiki Tavern. This is a full-service bar that also serves lunch and dinner. There is just something about enjoying an adult beverage and smelling that salty air that will have you living your best life! Also, with Kennedy Space Center launchpad, you may get lucky and have a great view of a rocket launch.

The pier is always full of activity. Your wedding guests can enjoy live music, a volleyball game on the sand or even rent a beach chair and watch the surfers. There is also bait and rentals available for fishing right off the pier.

If you are wanting to stay at the resort, you can enjoy the 75,000-gallon waterpark. From the 335-foot lazy river to the splash pad to the pool, the waterpark has a little something for all ages.

If you are looking for a more adult experience, there is a designated section of the resort just for you. After a long day at the beach or pier, you can grab a drink at the poolside bar and have a relaxing evening at the fire pit.

Wedding Venue

The new revitalization of Westgate Cocoa Beach Pier’s function space, alongside the newly renovated Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort, have single-handedly levelled-up this oceanfront destination in terms of upscale Cocoa Beach wedding venues to choose from.

The Atlantic Ballroom at Westgate Resort Cocoa Beach Pier provides a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean. Although the ballroom is on the pier, it has it’s own private deck and is secluded from the public. The venue sports over 3,500 square feet and can accommodate a guest count of up to 180. The ballroom itself has a coastal, modern vibe with copper tile ceilings. However, the design would work well with all types of wedding styles.

And did we mention the 180-degree view? It just can’t be beat!

When it comes to menu options for your wedding celebration, the venue offers a wide variety of options from brunch to a seated multi-course dinner. However, their expert chefs can also provide custom menus if you had something specific in mind.

Other Wedding Venue Options

The Westgate Resort Cocoa Beach Pier provides other options as well for your wedding ceremony and reception. If after having your wedding ceremony on the beach you wanted to continue to enjoy the smell of the ocean air, the pier has an open-air pavilion that is great for a larger wedding. All of the restaurants on the pier can be transformed into venue space as well, providing a variety of back up spaces should rain become an issue.

Overall, Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort is a great option for you to enjoy a beautiful beach wedding weekend celebration with your family and friends!
