What inspired you to get into photography?

We actually had a really poor experience with our own wedding photographer, believe it or not. I have always enjoyed the way photographing made me feel, even in high school as a yearbook editor. When I hired a “well-known studio” for my own wedding in NY, I didn’t realize the personal experience I was missing. I didn’t even know who would show up on my wedding day, before my wedding day! When everything was said and done, I was so disappointed and I told myself I never wanted another bride to have her wedding day ruined because of her photography experience.

What inspired you to get into videography?

Almost every consultation we were asked if we also did video, and the answer was always no. We saw a demand and a convenience for one company to offer both and we decided to give it a try! Since we offer a very distinct style of colorful and vibrant photography, we noticed that the same style was almost non-existent for video, as most of the time they are on the darker or moodier side. We love the convenience it offers our client having to only deal with one company for such a large scope of work, but one advantage is that since we are a husband and wife team, we naturally work really well together. Photographers and Videographers HAVE to work well together on wedding days and it just made sense to us.

What do you love most about working with couples?

Meeting and making new friends! Honestly, by the end of this whole process, we have so many couples that remain in touch and invite us to hang out. Because we have such a curated, personalized experience for the couples who hire us, we spend so much time with them and get to know them, that by the wedding day, people consider us friends, not vendors which makes their day go by so smoothly and comfortably.

What do you love most about filming weddings?

We love how we get to tell a story. Many videographers focus on documentary-style videos where they just put events in order and recap the day. We wanted to be more than that. We know how unique every couple is and their relationship and those videos don’t do them justice. We love that we get to tell that unique story in such a fun way where they can speak to each other through custom letters or personalized vows, instead of just watching their events unfold. Since Mike has a degree in music education, the music selection and editing is something he really enjoys, because that is one of the most important parts of a good, catchy film, the music!

What would you say your style is?

Our style is timeless and romantic with an emphasis on vibrant and bright colors. Our style attracts joyful couples with genuine and bright personalities. Our films are cinematic and tell a story, their story.

What types of packages do you offer? How far do you travel?

We serve the entire state of Florida and will travel anywhere you ask us to! We offer a variety of options depending on the couple’s needs. We of course offer wedding photography but also offer engagement sessions, cinematic highlight films, full-day documentary-style films, drone coverage, ceremony films, and engagement films. Whatever your vision is, we can help make it a reality!

What advice would you give couples on planning their wedding?

Enjoy your season of engagement and one another because this isn’t a race! You may have been waiting to get engaged for quite some time, but don’t forget to enjoy the bliss before you stress about planning everything. Once you have your venue and date, prioritize your vendors. What’s most important to you? Is it the food? The music? The photos? Spend your budget on those top 2-3 vendors then reassess your budget and go from there. A planner or Day of Coordinator will be some of the best money you’ll spend. Hire vendors who work with each other often, those are the dream teams you want in your corner on your wedding day.

Also, the biggest regret we hear over and over is “I wish I hired a videographer”. Now we may be a little biased, but we can see why that’s a high statistic. Video is often one of the “uh oh” vendors. We often get inquiries weeks before a wedding that says something along the lines of “We hired a great photographer but realized we overlooked getting a videographer, can you help us?” but by then we’re booked. The couples who regret skipping video usually say: “the day went by so quickly, I wish I had a video recap to remember more of it” or “we had a family member pass away and would have loved to have footage of him turning up the dance floor at our wedding” or “it wasn’t a priority then or wasn’t in the budget then, but now that I don’t have it, I regret not being able to watch it on our anniversaries like ‘so and so’ do every year”.
