Burgundy and Blue Boho Wedding at Haus 820

When planning their wedding, Chelsea and Sean wanted something that could showcase Chelsea’s artistic bohemian style, as well Sean’s love for the outdoors. Haus 820 in Lakeland, Florida was the perfect fit for their vision. The white brick walls and high ceilings allow the wedding venue to speak for itself, while the open space and overall simplicity allowed Chelsea to make some bold decisions with her bohemian wedding decor. The tall windows of Haus 820 allowed for the perfect amount of natural light to spill into the venue. Though they loved the venue in its entirety, they did share that the Artifact Room they used for cocktail hour was one of their favorite spots. The room had a display of artwork that their guests could view, adding to the overall guest experience while also serving as decor!

One of the biggest hits at Chelsea and Sean’s wedding was Chelsea’s wedding bouquet. Heather of Taylormade Floral & Event Decor executed her vision perfectly. The king proteas, with the most perfect light blush color and burgundy accents, were gorgeous. The Osceola turkey feathers mixed in to represent Sean’s love of the outdoors made the most beautiful combination of exotic elegance. Chelsea loved that they were bold, different, bohemian, and outdoorsy, which is exactly what she wanted. The centerpieces were a mix of three different arrangements that all had different heights to bring in that mismatch, bohemian feel.

Chelsea and Sean splurged on a curtain that they used to separate the inside space of the wedding venue. They wanted to create an intimate space for the wedding ceremony while keeping the reception area a secret. After the ceremony, the curtain was tied to re-open the space but made a big difference in keeping the guests focused on the ceremony before the reception. The one traditional wedding item that they skipped was the cake. Neither of them are huge cake fans, so they purchased assorted desserts for the guests to enjoy instead of a multi-tiered cake.

From Bride, Chelsea:

How did you two met and how did he propose?

Sean and I met at his Super Bowl Party. He was living with his friend Josh at the time, and a mutual friend of ours invited me to join!

Sean and I love hiking and being outside so, we decided to take a vacation to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Georgia. My family vacationed in the Ellijay area annually for as long as I can remember. We made plans to hike my favorite hike growing up called Emery Creek. The hike has you cross the creek 7 times and then it brings you up to a beautiful waterfall. Sean reached in his pocket when we arrived to the falls and he got down on one knee right there!

From Bride, Chelsea:

What were your favorite parts of the day?

My favorite parts of the day were hanging out with my girls while they were getting hair and make up done, listening to the speeches, dancing, and watching everyone have a blast with the foam glow sticks. As our exit, we purchased these AMAZING foam glow sticks that lit up, changed color, and changed flashing patterns. We brought them out about an hour before our exit and people were having a blast dancing and waving them around. The dance floor was filled with all these amazing colors and the pictures/stories I am still hearing about them are amazing.
