Angela and Graham envisioned a wedding that was moody and dark while still remaining classic and timeless. The couple loved the atmosphere of their venue, Hub 925. The venue’s vibe allowed them to stay minimalistic in decor. The decor they did choose to include was full of rich color, amazing texture, and unique cake design.
They used a mix of round and long farmhouse tables with black linens, lined with greenery. The tablescape was topped off with floral arrangements and candles. One detail that the couple loved was the classic tapered candlesticks and candelabras along with the beautiful florals. All of the candlesticks were thrifted and hand-painted by Angela’s father. Overall, she describes their decor as minimalistic with a little edge.
Angela noted that her veil was the most special item that she wore on her wedding day. It was handmade by her grandma for her cousin’s wedding day. Her cousin let her use the veil on her wedding day as her “something borrowed”.
How did you meet?
We met on Facebook when my husband was serving in the US Army in Texas. He was home on leave when we had our first date and were inseparable for the remaining time of his leave. We were long distance for about a year after that with me traveling to Texas a few weekends. He came home and we got pregnant with our beautiful son, Maverick.
How did he propose?
We got engaged on my second Mother’s Day at the SeaLife Aquarium in Orlando. Orlando will always have a special place in our hearts because we got engaged and married there.
What advice would you give couples in the wedding planning process?
Relax and have fun planning. Don’t fight about small details that your guests will not remember. Be in the moment and truly enjoy the love that all your guests have for you. Dance and LIVE!
What advice would you give couples about married life?
Don’t go to bed angry, have date nights, and always be honest with each other. Also have your own hobbies and friends so you don’t lose yourself in the process. You have to be a good human before you can be a good wife or husband.
