When planning their wedding day, Tori and Byron knew that they wanted to include their love for the outdoors. Sunny Acres Lodge fit their vision perfectly. They loved how it was an outdoor venue, but also that the indoor vibe allowed them to feel like they were bringing the outdoors inside. Loose flowers and greenery throughout their decor enhanced the feeling of bringing the outdoors in, giving their wedding the true rustic, garden theme they were going for.
One of the favorite parts of Tori and Byron’s day was the send off to their reception. Instead of waiting until the end of the night for a send off, the couple had their guests throw flower petals as they made their way to the cocktail hour/reception area. They chose to do this because they wanted all of their guests to be participating and knew that if they waited until the end of the night they may run the chance of some of their guests missing out.
When asked about tips they had for the wedding planning process, here is what they had to say: “We would definitely recommend hiring professional vendors, or at least go with a venue team you trust to help you with the little details on your big day! Sunny Acres had an amazing team & we could not have made our special day happen without them!”
How did he propose?
Byron and I love spending time outdoors and we had a trip planned to the Grand Tetons in June where we ran a half marathon with the most gorgeous views. After the race, we hiked to see Jenny Lake. At the peak, with an overview of the lake, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, to be his best friend forever, and to grow old together. I was surprised and it was the most beautiful moment and we had it followed by the best day of our lives, our beautiful wedding with family and friends. I couldn’t imagine it any other way.
What advice would you give couples going through the wedding planning process?
We would definitely recommend hiring professional vendors, or at the least go with a venue team you trust to help you with the little details on your big day! Sunny Acres had an amazing team & we could not have made our special day happen without them!
What was your favorite part of your wedding?
Our favorite part of the day was our send off to our reception, we did things a little different & had all of our guests line the driveway to help send us off in style to our cocktail hour/reception. They all threw flower petals in the air for us the run thru, it was so fun & we got some great photos from this. Plus we were able to have all of our guests take part in this instead of chancing waiting for the end & some guests missing out!
Is there any advice you would give couples about married life?
Always have fun together, life & planning a wedding can be stressful don’t let it get to you, enjoy this milestone in your life & soak it all in! The day goes by so fast so make as many memories as you can!
