Elegant Burgundy and Gold Wedding at the Swan and Dolphin Resort

Angela and Nick’s wedding at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida was inspired by their Italian heritage. They paid special attention to food, beverage, and family throughout the process. The result was an experience that included unique parties throughout the evening, with each one giving its own “WOW Factor”.

The first experience was the cocktail party with a “modern feel”. They created a unique space by transforming a banquet kitchen into a room that would allow their guests to experience a “speakeasy vibe”. They utilized each area of the space to its full capacity from a raw bar and champagne bar in the cooler to hot stations served out of ovens. As an added touch, they took their favorite cocktails, barrel-aged them, and served them out of the barrel on the deck oven.

The main course of the event was the reception, which was traditional and family-oriented. It included a five-course meal with an intermezzo, which is a traditional Italian palate cleansing course; a dual-entree with a veal chop and large jumbo prawn scampi; and vegetables served family-style.  The beverage component was a 1992 vintage wine bar, from the bride and groom’s birth year.  The room was traditional with a raised dais with their logo displayed throughout the room.

The final surprise was behind the curtains draped behind the band, where guests formed a conga line to reveal the after-party! The after-party was decorated with up-lighting, strobe lights, and smoke piped over the dance floor to give the feeling of an old New York style club.  They served Italian pastries from Arthur Avenue in the Bronx, NY, a vintage brandy from 1992, and a full coffee bar with baristas to fuel the party into the night!

“It was important to us that every aspect of our event was thought through to have meaning and impact to someone special to us.”
