Jewel Toned Wedding at Ever After Farms

Kirstie and Ethan’s Ever After Farms wedding was filled with rich jewel tones and so many customized details. From custom attire to customized welcome signs that told the story of their love, this couple’s personality shown through the whole wedding day.

From Bride, Kirstie:

“The reason we chose the venue we did, was because the very first time we drove onto the property for a tour Ethan envisioned signs leading up the long driveway each with a piece of the beginning of our story and how we got to this amazing day. So we indeed had beautiful wooden painted signs lining the drive as the guests arrived. My father built them and set them up.
They read:
“Their journey was sparked with a question..
Is Batman a superhero
Many said he wasn’t
They agreed he was
It’s not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me -Batman
And here we are years later
Still agreeing life is better together
Welcome to our forever”

Tell us about the custom attire for your wedding day.
From Bride, Kirstie:

“We had pops of comic influence from Ethan’s Superman bow tie, the groomsmen socks, and our custom table markers each with a different fun fact about our love. I had a custom tie made for my father and gave it to him on that day with a note on the back.

My dress, Juno by Wtoo Waters had no sleeves when I chose it. I had a vision the day I said yes to the dress and thanks to the amazing seamstress, she turned an already gorgeous dress into my dream dress. With fairy sleeves with peekaboo slits adorned with lace and sparkle. It is a 100% one of a kind dress.”

From Bride, Kirstie:
How did you meet?

“Ethan and I met the summer of 2011, right after I graduated high school. This year we’ve been together for nine years. We’ve been together through graduations, the loss of family, long-distance because of schooling, and so many good moments too!”

How did he propose?

“Ethan proposed to me in Jackson Hole, Wyoming while on vacation celebrating our seven-year anniversary as well as him showing me where he grew up. We were on my very first horseback ride, trailing alongside Teton national Park when we stopped for a break in front of this beautiful lake called Bradley Lake. Our family friends who were with us that day were all in on it, had the camera rolling and everything as Ethan got down on one knee and proposed. It was a complete surprise! He’d been planning for months. It was so special!”

From Bride, Kirstie:
What was the best part of your wedding day?

“If I can only pick one best part of our wedding, it was during the ceremony when Ethan and I exchanged our promises. It was so great, some were funny, some were serious, some were romantic, and some were inside jokes just between him and I. Some of them even matched though we wrote them completely independent of one another. To say it is special is an understatement.

If I can pick two, it would be our alone time with the photographers in the blueberry vineyard after all the group shots were completed. It was so magical. So calm. So personal. Those are our favorite photos.”

From Bride, Kirstie:
What advice would you give couples about the wedding planning process?

“One thing that truly made a huge difference in my ability to remain present the whole day was giving my bridesmaids my phone to hold onto and not looking at it once all day. I truly feel that made such a difference in the ability to enjoy every moment.

My other piece of advice would be this: keeping on a budget is tricky but remember the end goal which is being with the person you love for the rest of your life. It will be beautiful, it will be perfect. Don’t let the little stress is along the way affect the main reason you’re doing it at all.”

What advice would you give couples about married life?

“Those vows, promises, or whatever words you exchange on the best day of your life, mean so much more than just being said on that day alone. It is a daily effort to remind yourself to put forth those words into action. Some days are easier, some days are more difficult. Your partner is your best friend, your number one for the rest of your life! Treat them like that 🙂 and everything else will work itself out.”
