Katie and Kyle’s story is sweet and one-of-a-kind, just like their Orlando Science Center wedding. The two of them met through work, and though the timing wasn’t right initially, eventually their friendship grew into much, much more. Katie calls Kyle the “calm amidst [her] hurricane of existence” and her “center.” He’s the one she leans on when things get tough and the one who can always make her laugh with his goofiness. Kyle loves Katie’s energy and passion for adventure, and she brings him out of his comfort zone.
When it came time to propose, Kyle set his sights on Disney, where they’d had one of their very first dates. For their anniversary, the two of them spent the day at Epcot before they made their way to California Grill for dinner. Once they’d eaten, Kyle and Katie stepped outside to watch the fireworks, then grabbed a drink at the Polynesian. They finished the night off with a few rides at the Magic Kingdom! While each location could have been the perfect proposal spot, it didn’t seem like the perfect moment. Instead, Kyle waited until the next morning, when he announced to Katie that he had “one more anniversary gift.” There alone in their home, Kyle got down on one knee and asked Katie to be his wife!
Finally, it was time for Kyle and Katie’s special day, and they said their vows to one another with a ceremony overlooking the Orlando skyline. Katie wore her mother’s wedding veil and vintage-style pumps with her tea-length dress, and she and Kyle shared their first wedded kiss under an archway of white and purple roses.
Their reception theme was just as fun as it was unconventional – there were dinosaurs everywhere! A giant tyrannosaurus rex welcomed guests to the party, and model dino skeletons oversaw the celebration from every corner of the room. There were even bride and groom dinosaurs on top of the cake! Handmade native Florida plant arrangements served as the centerpieces for every table, and agate geodes displayed each table number. It was a reception one hundred percent worthy of the science museum! After fun on the dance floor, Kyle and Katie ended their evening with a glow stick exit. Here’s to a lifetime full of many more adventures!
