Purple and Navy Wedding at Gaylord Palms Resort Orlando

With a vision of a romantic enchanted forest for their wedding, Stephanie and Jason leaned on their vendor team to help bring this to life. Raining Roses Productions suggested a lovely color palette of purple hues and navy blue with tons of greenery to fit in with the winter vibe of their January wedding. To complement the enchanted forest theme, Soundwave Entertainment transformed the reception space with beautiful uplighting and projections. Check out all the beautiful details along with Stephanie and Jason’s love story below.

How did you meet?

From Bride, Stephanie:
“We met at work, insert eye roll. I had said I would never date/marry a doctor and I was working as a nurse in the operating room while finishing my master’s. Jason was completing his first year of residency. I lost a bet to him and we went on our “first” date, what should have been an hour or 2 turned into 4-5 hours of just great conversation. The rest is history!”

How did Jason propose?

From Bride, Stephanie:
“He proposed by taking me on a weekend staycation in Miami. On the way down, we stopped at the Spanish Monastery, which is absolutely beautiful. After walking around a bit, he walked me over to an area he had all set up with flowers, music, and candles and popped the questions while my two very good friends were hiding taking photos. It was so perfect!! After the weekend in Miami, he had also set up a surprised engagement party at our home. After that, I couldn’t handle any more surprises. He did such an amazing job with everything, I am super lucky!”

Were there any special details and meaning behind those details in your wedding?

From Bride, Stephanie:
“No special meanings to the colors or theme, just knew we wanted it to feel romantic and I think everyone involved really helped that come across. The one special detail was our station before entering the reception hall, we made an area full of old wedding photos from all of our family members to surprise them. I think they were really surprised and it was a really fun/special piece that I think everyone enjoyed.”

What was the best part of your wedding? Why?

From Bride, Stephanie:
“Besides marrying my best friend, I would say the ice luge was a major hit, we did an “S” near each bar. Really it was seeing everything we had imagined come together seamlessly and having all of our friends and family there to celebrate with us.”

From Bride, Stephine:

What advice would you give other couples about the wedding planning process?

“Do your research and meet with vendors. You really want to work with people you get along with and that they understand you. We truly had the best experience with our vendors and that took so much stress away. A wedding planner for at least the month of was a huge help.”

Is there any advice that you would give engaged couples about married life?

“Oh man, we are only about a year in, not sure how much advice we can really give. I think its important to remember to just have fun, be honest and respectful. Life is too crazy and there are too many external stressors, remember why you married your spouse and that continued respect, trust and love are always a good foundation for any relationship in your life, marriage especially.”
