Elegant Blush and Mint Women’s Club of Winter Park Wedding - Jessica and Nick
Jessica and Nick chose Knowles Memorial Chapel, a historic building on the campus of Rollins College, as the perfect location to become husband and wife. Their wedding was beautifully classic with plenty of personal details mixed in! Jessica’s bridesmaids all wore matching pink and black robes as they got ready, and Jessica wore a pretty white and lace robe as she prepared to walk down the aisle.
Outside light lit up the chapel’s stained glass windows, and family and friends looked on as Nick and Jessica tied the knot. They exited their ceremony as triumphant newlyweds through a cloud of bubbles. When both the bride and the groom are pharmacists, guests get to enjoy an “apothecary” themed cocktail hour! As everyone sipped drinks and mingled, Jessica and Nick snuggled in close for photos at the chapel. Afterwards, they continued the party at the Women’s Club of Winter Park, which was decorated with roses and hydrangeas. Make sure you don’t miss the silly groom’s cake, featuring a t-rex as a “bridezilla!”
How they met from bride, Jessica:
Nick and I met during our last year of pharmacy school in Ft Lauderdale, Fl. We actually went to different schools, but met by chance while both out downtown with friends and hit if off after discovering our common interests. We became official only a few weeks later and have been inseparable for the 5 years since.
How he proposed from bride, Jessica:
We love to travel and for our engagement Nick surprised me with a weekend trip to one of my favorite cities, Savannah, Ga. He told me we had dinner reservations, but wanted to walk around Forysth Park first. As we strolled around, a man with a camera approached us an asked for help with a “project”. He handed Nick some cue cards and asked me to read them aloud. I was kind of confused but went a long with it. The cue cards replicated the lines from one of my favorite movies, “Love Actually” with a few personalized touches thrown in The last cue card ended with the sentimental line from the movie “to me you are perfect” and a proposal on one knee! Meanwhile the photographer captured the whole scene. I couldn’t have been more surprised or impressed by Nick’s creative proposal. We followed up the night with strolling a long the streets of Savannah to look at the Christmas lights and a romantic dinner in the wine cellar of the Olde Pink House. It was an amazing weekend I’ll never forget!
Wedding inspiration from bride, Jessica:
As for the inspiration for the wedding, I just wanted a classic, romantic, southern style. I went to Rollins for undergrad and had always dreamed of getting married in their beautiful chapel. Since it was a spring wedding, we chose a color palette that had lots of light airy colors..blush, ivory, and sage green with touches of gold. We’re both pharmacists and we wanted our cocktail hour to have a slight “apothecary” style with themed cocktails and decor. I grew up in Winter Park and loved that we were able to incorporate some beautiful and historic venues into our wedding day.
