What happens when you mix rustic elements with an Old Florida feel? This beautiful wedding inspiration shoot at Sunny Acres Lodge is the answer and it’s no surprise that this shoot is right up our alley.
The model bride was the picture of elegance dressed in a fitted lace gown with a sprawling train. Though the plan for the shoot was to have an outside ceremony set up, there was only time for a couple quick photos by the lake before the clouds opened up. No worries, though – the indoor ceremony was just as pretty! An outdoor reception set up featured round farm tables with old Florida postcards, and the white floral centrepieces were speckled with orange accents.
And let’s not forget the cake! Decorated with sugar citrus fruits and tropical florals, it fit right in with the rest of the decor.
Fun fact: when the ceremony structure was built in the 1960’s, bricks were salvaged from Downtown Lakeland historic brick roads to make the floors. The pecky cypress walls were brightened up with white drapery and tons of vines for classic Florida vibes.
Neutral color palettes are always classic and beautiful. This Orlando wedding inspiration shoot included beautiful white florals and ample amounts of greenery with little pops of color in the florals and cake. Gabriella Anthoney’s Design Artisty created a natural bridal look for the model bride’s hair and makeup, which went perfectly with the elegant Pronovias gown from the Bridal Gallery of Orlando. And we always love a great floral tie like the one the model groom was sporting!
Sunny Acres Lodge is located on over 200 acres of beautiful natural Florida landscape, which makes for a gorgeous ceremony backdrop. Simple ceremony decor with rustic benches and flower arrangements were placed at the ceremony site to showcase the natural beauty. However, as we all know, the weather for summer weddings can be unpredictable and the clouds started to roll in.
As a backup ceremony location, the lodges former master retreat was set up. The signature pecky cypress walls and wood ceiling surrounded the room which was filled with tons of greenery from Pixies and Petals and draping.
As the rain clouds cleared, the Old Florida wedding inspiration continued in the reception space. The venue’s skeet shooting range provides cover for the couple’s sweetheart table and the cake, while the guest area is set up under market lights. Round farmhouse tables and Vineyard mismatched chairs from Orlando Wedding and Party Rentals provide the perfect rustic feel that blends perfectly with the venue. Table centrepieces included lush greenery and white flowers with little pops of orange from Pixes and Petals as well as vintage Florida postcards as “table numbers”.
A wedding cake is always a great area of your wedding to get creative. Bakers Cottage Cakes created a beautiful wedding cake filled with vibrant sugar florals and citrus that really brought the cake to life and fit with the Old Florida theme perfectly!
