We always love when a couple incorporates a theme or detail that has significant meaning into their wedding! For Shaliley and Daniel, their love of movies, specifically Jurassic Park, was the inspiration behind their wedding theme. From ring boxes to footwear to a special reception entrance, dinos were found throughout their wedding celebration. Along with their theme, the couple wanted to include dried florals in their wedding design and reached out to Andie of Events by The Flower Studio. Andie’s use of dried and fresh neutral-toned flowers provided a perfect earthy but elegant element to tie in the Jurassic Park theme.
The attire of the day was a showstopper as well! Daniel and his groomsmen looked dapper in two-toned suits. While the bridesmaids wore champagne cowl neck jumpsuits. However, it was the bride, Shaliley attire that brought all the style with her two looks. For the ceremony, she wore a two-piece black dress with a black cathedral veil. After their couple’s portraits, Shaliley switched the vibe with a two-piece, pearl-adorned party-ready dress.
For Shaliley and Daniel, the day was all about family, stating “The best part of my day was getting our families together. Most of our siblings had to travel out of state to attend.” The couple’s wedding date of November 1st also held a family significance. Shaliley explains, “The date is actually the same as my sister/godmother’s and father’s wedding date. He passed away in 2020. As almost a second father to me, it was the biggest honor to be able to share the same wedding date as them.”

From Bride, Shaliley:
What was your proposal story?
“Our proposal story happened a few months into Covid June 8th, 2020 which was also my birthday. After being cooped up at home for months and canceled plans to Vegas. We decided with my sister and nieces to take a drive to Georgia for some hikes and relaxation. I was in a terrible mood all morning when leaving for the hike but at the top of the cliff, Daniel down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Anxiety kicked in and I panicked and whispered no instead of yes with my hand sticking out ring finger up and ready for my ring. Then we celebrated and FaceTimed our families.”

From Bride, Shaliley:
Is there anything that you wish you would have done differently or had that you didn’t for your wedding?
“If we could’ve done something differently we would’ve either got a bounce house or did a photo booth for more entertainment.”
What advice would you give other couples about the wedding planning process?
“My best advice would be to do it your way. It’s your day. I didn’t settle for anything less than what you want.”
Is there any advice that you would give engaged couples about married life?
“Keep dating each other. Dating doesn’t stop when you get married. Bring her/him flowers or chocolate. Keeping feeding into their love language.”
