Rustic Blush Wedding at The Enchanting Barn

Rustic elegance mixed with boho flare is the way that Aliya and Brittany would describe their wedding at The Enchanting Barn. The beautiful brides selected a color palette of blush, rose gold, and champagne for a feminine feel. They also included plenty of eucalyptus throughout their wedding design as they loved the lush feeling that it brought.

The couple was all about the personal touches. Including some of their favorite photos and paying special tribute to same sex marriage with an open dance, were just some of the unique details of their wedding. However, when asked what their favorite part of the day was Aliya said, “The best part of the wedding was our vow exchange. They were so emotional, beautiful and authentic. Something we both will never forget! But a close second would be the choreographed dance Brittany and her old hip hop team put together as a surprise!”

From Bride, Aliya:

How did you meet?

“In 2017 Aliya unexpectedly lost one of her high school friends. After attending her funeral, she got to see many friends that she has not been around since her teenage years. Brittany happened to be friends with these people in her adult life through coaching cheerleading at Legendary Athletics in Longwood, FL. Aliya began to rekindle relationships with these high school buddies, hitting the old neighborhood bars and restaurants together. Shortly after, their mutual friends mentioned to both Brittany and Aliya that they would be perfect for each other and they should meet. Both were not interested in meeting anyone at the time and just wrote it off to a cheesy attempt at matchmaking because they were both interested in women.

Later at Friendly Confines in Lake Mary, FL both Brittany and Aliya ended up there at the same time, unplanned. Brittany spotted Aliya across the room and whispered to her friends “who’s that girl? I want to talk to her” and all the friends said to her with excitement “THAT’S ALIYA, THE GIRL WE TOLD YOU ABOUT” the friends quickly told Aliya she should introduce herself to Brittany and that’s exactly what she did. It was an instant connection, and a mutual attraction to each other. They sat and talked for 4 hours and never wanted the night to end! Their mutual friends were more than right about Aliya and Brittany’s compatibility and their journey together has been a spiritual one. From a rocky start, filled with partying and ups and downs- to a life of sobriety, growth, success and unconditional love.”

From Bride, Aliya:

Tell Us Your Proposal Story:

Brittany dreamed of a proposal that was surrounded by her friends and family. We just kind of decided Aliya would be the one to do it without any true reasoning! So on March 23, 2019 Aliya pretended to go on a business day trip to get everything set up while brittanys best friend took her to the beach for the day. Aliya had Brittany’s mother fly into town and her best friends of 23 years that she hasn’t seen in forever attend along with all of our mutual friends and family members (30 people total) Aliya set up a gazebo covered in lights with a rose petal path and catered food and drinks to everyone waiting. Brittany arrived around 8pm and got out of the car already crying walking up to the gazebo! Aliya asked her to marry her, she said yes and everyone cheered. Brittany realized her mom and best friends were there and it was an extremely emotional moment!

What advice would you give couples planning their wedding?

“The wedding planning process can seem daunting but it can also be really fun! When you start to stress, take a break, re-center, and remember what the wedding is truly about; your love and commitment to one another.
When you make a decision, try not to go back and re-think it you made that decision for a reason and it will all work out! Have your select few people you trust and want to help in the process. Don’t take advice from just anyone because it causes a lot of unnecessary stress. Stay true to you and your fiancé’s visions as much as possible.”

Is there any advice that you would give couples about married life?

“We are new in our married life but feel closer and more connected than ever! As you grow through life together, never forget to be grateful and stand in each other’s corner. Communicate and be vulnerable and remember tough times pass but they teach you a lot. Compromising is more important than being right and always Stay each other’s best friends!”
