After having to postpone their wedding twice due to COVID, Kristen and Daniel were ecstatic to finally be able to tie the knot with all their friends and family at Syndonie Mansion, located in Mount Dora, Florida. Since they had to downsize their guest list due to the pandemic, they were able to spend quality time with their closest loved ones, making it the best day of their lives.
Kristen and Daniel do not define themselves as traditional or formal and they wanted to make sure they had a wedding that felt like them. Key words included bright, fun, and not something seen every day. They loved the idea of replacing traditional florals with metallic painted dried leaves and funky shades of pampas grass. From there, a boho garden theme just seemed like the perfect fit and the Atmosphere’s Floral and Design team did an amazing job of bringing this look together.
They also made the day unique to their love by having their three furbabies walked down the aisle by each bridesmaid. The pups were able to stand up front and watch as their mom and dad said, “I do” while being cared for by Winter Park Pet Concierge. Kristen exclaimed, “we wouldn’t have had it any other way!”
From Bride, Kristen:
How did Daniel propose?
“Daniel and I were on a beautiful vacation, touring several cities in Europe. We started out in Lisbon, Portugal, and Daniel kept asking what we were going to do there, where we were going to go. Which if you know Daniel, was already a dead giveaway, because that man very much likes to go with the flow, while I’ve always been more of the planner. He insisted that we visit this breathtaking hilltop palace in Sintra.
Once we arrived, we had to hike up quite a ways to get to the palace. Daniel was carrying a backpack that he’d been clutching for dear life everywhere we went, and when I offered to carry it, he quickly insisted that he had it. Poor guy was sweating bullets, but when we reached the castle, he said we needed to find the best picture spot. He knows that I love my pictures. So once we found the perfect spot, he asked this sweet German woman to take our picture then walked back over to me. I started fixing my hair, then saw Daniel get down on one knee out of the corner of my eye. He was so nervous he only got out about two lines, but I was so deliriously excited that I don’t even remember what he said. Long story short, I said yes!”
From Bride, Kristen:
What advice would you give other couples about the wedding planning process?
“Just remember that while things may go wrong, and the planning process may not always be easy, it is so worth it when you get to marry your person surrounded by the people who made you who you are.”
