A Disney turned Alfond Inn wedding was nothing short of perfect for Anna and Jess. In the weeks approaching their wedding, they decided to switch venues and thanks to their amazing new vendor team they were able to make it happen. They were able to pull off the sweetest intimate wedding with 18 of their closest friends and family.
Anna and Jess’ wedding was full of color. They went with jewel tones of marigold, emerald, sapphire and rose. The two bridesmaids also wore different colored dresses. The ceremony was absolutely magical in the Alfond Inn ballroom. The iridescent globes hanging from the ceiling added the perfect touch. They also had a pianist playing Disney songs during the ceremony. One of the most touching moments for me was during the ring-warming ceremony when they played the song from “Up”! The reception was also unforgettable as the maid of honor, Anna’s sister, gave a multimedia speech that could best be described as a hysterical tear jerker.
Tell us a little bit about your wedding:
From Bride, Anna:
“We were originally planning a small wedding at Walt Disney World, however, due to Covid-19, the event was cancelled. I live in West Virginia, which is pretty far from Florida, so planning a wedding so far away on such short notice was stressful. I considered cancelling the whole thing and having the ceremony at home, but I had booked some great vendors and didn’t want to lose them! Luckily, I was able to find a planner who was able to help plan our entire wedding in about three weeks.
So two days after our wedding was cancelled, my sister and I flew to Florida to look for a new venue, and I fell in love with The Alfond Inn. The only problem was that it didn’t match the theme I had been planning for almost two years. We decided there was still time to switch things up, so we re-worked our color scheme and everything to match our new “Romantic Hacienda” theme. We went from peach and white to jewel tones, and I handmade a bunch new decor to match.I love how bright and lively the new color scheme made our wedding look! It felt much more “us.”
I wanted to have a very subtle Mexican theme since we met at a Mexican restaurant, and we have eaten there for every anniversary since, but I didn’t want it to be too over the top, so we incorporated it into small decor elements such as our favors and chair signs.”
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
From Bride, Anna:
“My favorite part of the day was hearing our family’s toasts. Everyone put so much thought into what they wanted to say, and it made my husband and I feel honored that they would put so much work into a simple toast for us. My father planned his speech for months, and it was beautiful. He was able to tie every part of our lives into one toast, allowing us to reflect on how my husband and I were two individuals who have grown up together to finally become one. My sister coordinated her toast with music, which had everyone at the wedding rolling with laughter, which was perfect to follow up my father’s tear-jerker.”
