Amelia and Chris wanted their wedding to be a little whimsy and cozy with all the Modern Farmhouse feels. The Mulberry in New Smyrna Beach, Florida made for the perfect backdrop. They used a lovely color palette of slate blue and sage with pops of silver which complimented the venue. Amelia included floating candles throughout the design, which really helped bring in that cozy feel to the entire wedding day.
Where there any special details that you included in your wedding?
From Bride, Amelia:
As an honor to his late Opa, Chris wore his Opa’s cufflinks as his older brother did for his wedding a few years before. The pearl earrings and necklace I wore were the first pieces of jewelry I got from Chris. Tosci, our dog, was our “ring bearer”.
How did you meet?
From Bride, Amelia:
“Our story begins in Boston back in August 2014 when we met on Tinder. Fun fact – it didn’t take me long to find Chris as our first date was only my second Tinder date. I’m lucky I found him!”
How did he propose?
From Bride, Amelia:
“One of our favorite hobbies is hiking – we’ve hiked all over the world from New Hampshire to Norway. It was quite the appropriate proposal when in November 2018, Chris popped the question underneath High Falls waterfall in Asheville, NC. Of course, I said yes!”
What was the best part of your wedding?
From Bride, Amelia:
“The best part of our wedding was the reception. When we first started dating, Chris and I took dance lessons and enjoyed every minute of it. We made sure our reception had plenty of time for celebratory dancing with our friends and family.
Additionally, we loved that our dog, Tosci, was able to be a part of the ceremony. He’s our first dog together and is named after our favorite ice cream shop in Cambridge, MA. It was important to us to have him there on our wedding day and he did a marvelous job carrying the rings as he walked down the aisle alongside my sister and MOH.”
What advice would you give couples currently planning their weddings?
From Bride, Amelia:
“Don’t feel any pressure to have your wedding be anything other than how you want it to be.”
